Motorcycle taxi driver was brutally attacked with a machete in Neiva

This is Rubén Darío Puentes Tovar, who works as a motorcycle taxi driver in the capital Opita and who ended up being attacked with a knife by one of his clients.

According to the Neiva Metropolitan Police, the events occurred in the Ocho commune last weekend, when Puentes Tovar went out to work on his motorcycle. Right there he was approached by a guy who told him that he needed to go to another point in the city, they agreed on the price and started off.

However, on the way, this subject pulled out a machete and apparently tried to force him to get off the motorcycle to also steal his other belongings. When he refused, he allegedly attacked him on more than five occasions, leaving him seriously injured.

People from the community, who realized this fact, helped him and took him to the IPC health center, where he was treated urgently.

For their part, the authorities are working to establish the identity of the aggressor, based on videos from security cameras and testimonies.
