Napoleone: “Very positive signs for menswear at Pitti Uomo 105”

“If the men’s fashion system had to strike the blow immediately at the start of 2024, well then Pitti Uomo 105 really positive messages arrived: in the pavilions, among the stands, in the city, at special events, here in Florence we recorded widespread, great energy and, together, the desire of all operators to concentrate on the factors considered decisive for the success of the markets”. Talking is Raphael NapoleonCEO of Pitti Immagine, who, commenting on the closing data of the event dedicated to menswear, added: “I am referring to the quality of the collections and the commitment of the companies in adding new styles and/or materials to each season in tune with the new trends of the consumption; to the ability of the best retailers and buyers to select orders according to curatorial logics that integrate – without subordinating themselves – with commercial needs, thus giving opportunities and visibility to experimentation, to new generations, to fashion research”.

The edition concluded last January 12 recorded foreign buyers increasing by approximately 4% in terms of people and almost 6% in terms of sales points compared to January 2023. The Italian figure, however, is slightly decreasing, a circumstance that was widely expected considering the slowdowns in the domestic market, recorded especially in the last three or four months. The final figure for buyers alone reached 13 thousand units, with foreigners at around 4,700. The top countries in order of turnout (people) are: Germany, Holland, United Kingdom, Turkey, Spain, France, Japan, United States, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Greece and China.
