The Secretariat of Peace and Human Rights and the Secretariat of Government, in compliance with Auto 081 of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), installed the technical table in order to establish the technical parameters and historical memory for the reconstruction of Monument 14 located in the Central Cemetery of Neiva in tribute to the victims.
In joint work with the organizations that make up the committee, the Mayor’s Office of Neiva undertook an important task of recognizing the victims of the armed conflict. In this context, the monument will be rebuilt with the purpose of generating a symbol of coexistence, reconciliation and reparation to the victims who have suffered the loss of their loved ones, many of them, today missing due to the armed conflict.
According to the Secretary of Peace and Human Rights, Jorge Enrique Lozano, the government’s interest is to give continuity to the initiative, being guarantors of the process of dialogue and reflection around historical memory as a fundamental piece in the reconstruction of the monument. «Of course, this work will be carried out hand in hand with the organizations of victims’ representatives, with whom communication channels will be established for joint work. We consider the process of mourning, the reconciliation of the spirit and the meaning essential to contribute to historical memory.”
In this first meeting, which included the participation of the Search Unit for Persons Reported Missing (UBPD) and the parish of the Inmaculada, a roadmap was drawn up to continue materializing this project in tribute to the victims of armed conflict.
