New sit-in against Afinia in Valledupar

In their fight to be heard by the national government, residents of the municipality of Valledupar will hold a new sit-in in front of the offices of the Afinia company, in rejection of the high electricity rates and lack of response to the complaints and claims filed by the users.

The activity will take place next April 11, starting at 8:00 in the morning on Calle 17 with Carrera 14, Afinia headquarters, Valledupar.

The announcement was made by the community leader Yiyo Martínez, who assured that although in Valledupar Iván Villazón recorded a protest song against the high costs of the electricity service, “the Government does not even pinch itself, it does not turn its gaze to Cesar, while the family economy “He is suffocating more every day with electricity bills.”

He reiterated that the Superintendency of Public Services has not wanted to face Cesar and Valledupar either, despite the constant requests that have been made.

It is important to highlight that recently the Municipal Comptroller of Valledupar, Angelica María Olarte, filed a Guardianship Action for the company Afinia-Grupo EPM to provide information necessary to determine possible acts of illegality or that affect public assets, with the aim of undertaking the administrative and judicial actions that may arise.

The aforementioned company arbitrarily refused to provide information directly related to the provision of home energy service and the collection of the public lighting tax, which contravenes the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Law 1474/11 and the Transparency and Access to Information Law 1712. of 2014.
