Fierce aggression, just before 6pm, on the Amat bus of the 619 line that leads from the center of Palermo to the Zen district. A black young man was attacked by a group of peers, according to five or six Zen boys, while the public transport was traveling towards the high-rises of the suburban neighborhood.
The attack took place at via San Lorenzo. The alarm was raised by the driver, who witnessed the boy’s beating. Some cars from the police station and the San Lorenzo police station arrived immediately: the agents brought calm on board the bus and identified the assailants. But shortly after the beating resumed.
At that point the bus, with driver and victim of the attack, was escorted to the San Lorenzo police station, where investigators are collecting the testimonies of the driver and the young black man.
The reasons for the aggression of the “herd” are not yet known. The investigators do not rule out that it was a racially motivated beating, but the spark could have been a look from the young man towards one of the girls on board the bus.
The victim’s condition is good: he reported some bruises and bruises and in the next few hours he will be treated in the emergency room.
