Thus began the intervention of Carlo Pavan, municipal councilor of the Lega in Udine, who ended up in the storm due to the heavy words used in his post on social networks after the match between Naples and Udinese, won by the Campania region in a 2-1 comeback, but ready to remain in place despite requests for resignation from the opposition benches. «The terms used were certainly strong – continues Pavan – and I regret this. I am not and will never be a racist towards the Neapolitans, whom I personally know in good numbers and with whom I have always had and will always have good relations. I want to clarify therefore that I will remain in my place in the city council, which I do not intend to leave for now ».

For the municipal councilor of the Lega, then, “it goes without saying that these continuous attitudes on the part of the opposition, who, having no other arguments, cling to errors due to personal inexperience in political matters, which instead they do not lack having behind them years of political militancy in the various parties and in the various previous administrations are creating a very tense atmosphere within the council. Having no other cartridges to shoot, they cling to the private life of the undersigned by magnifying the small mistake of a passionate football fan who has privately expressed his judgment on an arbitration and a football match against his favorite team. Personally, however, I undertake that in the future similar cases will never happen again ».
