[서울=뉴시스] Reporter Jooyeon Park = The piano duo Shinbak, celebrating their 10th anniversary, will appear as special curators for the ‘NET; WORK’ series at Kumho Art Hall on the 22nd.

It is a stage where performers directly pair music pieces and interpret the hidden musical flow in a new way. On this stage, the piano duo Shinbak plays dance songs that bloomed in Europe in the 19th century. Works by Brahms and Leger, Fauré and Bizet, all composed in the 1800s, an important period not only in piano history but also in the piano duet repertoire.

The piano was professionally improved under the influence of rapid industrial development in Europe in the 19th century and took on its current form, and was widely distributed around middle-class families. Piano education for liberal arts and performances for entertainment are prevalent, and in addition to piano solo works, piano duet works also have a vast repertoire.

The performance program this time takes the form of dance songs such as Landler and Waltz, or has titles that remind you of your childhood, such as Children’s Charge, Children’s Scene, and Children’s Play. The piano duo Shinbak will play a briquette song in which two musicians sit side by side on a single piano and play the lively harmony of four hands.

Shin Park, a piano duo composed of pianists Shin Mi-jung and Park Sang-wook, was formed in 2013. They grew up as a professional piano duo under the guidance of Hanspeter Stentzl and Volker Stentzl, who were appointed as the world‘s first piano duo professors.
