A heart attack would be the cause of the death of Senator Piedad Córdoba, 69 years old.
The senator from the Historical Pact had been outside the Congress of the Republic for several months after being elected. That is why it is known that, for some years, her state of health was not exactly the best.
“Today, January 20, 2024, at 12:50 pm, Senator Piedad Córdoba Ruiz was brought by family members. admitted to the emergency service immediately,” stated the statement from the Conquistadores Clinic in Medellín.
The medical center noted that, after evaluation by doctors, a 69-year-old woman was found without vital signs. Despite resuscitation attempts in the corresponding room, No response was obtained, and his death was declared, placing the body at the disposal of Forensic Medicine.
Recently, the government of President Gustavo Petro signed the extradition of Álvaro Córdoba, brother of the congresswoman, for drug trafficking.
