The supervisory body on the judiciary challenged by the EU

(ANSA) – STRASBOURG, OCTOBER 19 – “We will abolish the disciplinary section” of the Supreme Court “because the mechanisms introduced on liability have not met our expectations”. This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki speaking to the European Parliament and confirming Warsaw’s intention to eliminate the supervisory body on the judiciary at the center of the profound clash with the EU over the independence of judges.
