For two months, a group of children at the transition level of the José Manuel Palacios Educational Institution, in Managrú, municipal seat of El Cantón del San Pablo, have been without classes due to the absence of a teacher who is on maternity leave.
The lack of classes has harmed the educational process of more than twenty children, which today forced the parents of the primary section to close the school while the Ministry of Education resolves the situation.
In addition to the trauma in academic activities, the classrooms in which classes are held have serious structural flaws, which puts the lives of children and teachers at high risk.
The protest takes place one day before the celebration of Children’s Day, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, by the municipal administration.
It is expected that the Ministry of Education will send a replacement for the teacher in postpartum recovery, and the administrative authorities of the municipality and the department will provide a prompt solution to the problems of the physical plant of the educational institution.
