If Donald Trump does not come up with the money to pay his $355 million fine, New York Attorney General Letitia James is threatening to have his property seized. She hinted at this in an interview with TV channel ABC.
“If he does not have enough resources to pay the judgment, we will initiate legal mechanisms to ensure the judgment is enforced and ask the judge to seize his assets,” James said.
“We are prepared to guarantee that the fine will be paid to New Yorkers, and, yes, I watch 40 Wall Street every day,” she continued. That is the address where the Trump Building is housed.
Convicted
Trump was convicted last week of manipulating the value of his Trump Organization for years to obtain favorable loans and insurance. The ex-president has already announced that he will appeal, but that does not have a suspensive effect.
According to American media, Trump has thirty days to transfer the money or set up some kind of guarantee.
