In the midst of complying with an arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General’s Office, officials from the Transnational Fugitive Investigation Working Group of the CTI (Technical Investigation Corps) arrived at a sector of the Cedritos neighborhood, located in the town of Engativá (north of Bogotá) and arrested a woman identified as Amparo Estela Burbano Solano.
Burbano Solano, a Colombian national, has been wanted since June 2023 by the Fourth Permanent Criminal Appeals Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Callao (Peru).
“Burbano Solano would be part of a transnational drug trafficking network that uses people to send cocaine from Peru to Basel (Switzerland), with a stopover in Amsterdam (Netherlands),” indicated the Prosecutor’s Office, after the approval of the request he made. Peruvian justice, which occurred at the end of June 2023.
According to what the evidentiary material of the investigation carried out by the authorities showed, the instrumentalized people “ingested dozens of finger cots with several grams of the illicit substance (cocaine),” the official document highlighted.
Together with CTI officials, the capture operation had the support of uniformed members of the Military Gaula and the US Marshals Agency of the United States Department of Justice.
To materialize the extradition request made, the International Affairs Directorate of the Prosecutor’s Office was in charge of completing the necessary procedures before the Embassy of Peru and other national entities for Burbano Solano to appear for the crime of aggravated illicit drug trafficking.
