Qinghai Province to Launch Two Military Conscriptions in 2024

The Qinghai Provincial Recruitment Office has announced that two military conscriptions will take place in Qinghai Province in 2024. The first recruitment period will run from February 20 to March 31, while the second period will begin on August 15 and end on September 30. The recruitment will adhere to the “Regulations on the Political Assessment of Military Recruitment and Recruitment Personnel” and the “Physical Examination Standards for Citizens Recruited.”

Recruitment targets will prioritize college students, with a focus on graduates at all levels and types of schools. Science and engineering college students, as well as skilled personnel needed for war preparations, will be given priority for enlistment. Additionally, young women who are fresh graduates from ordinary high schools, full-time fresh graduates from ordinary colleges and universities and scientific research institutions, are also eligible to participate in the recruitment.

Exceptional individuals who have performed well in emergency rescue, disaster relief and recovery, and the reconstruction of disaster areas will be given priority to enlist in the army. Children, brothers and sisters of martyrs, and servicemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty will also be given priority approval for enlistment.

The recruitment age for male candidates is 18 to 22 years old in 2024, and the age limit is extended to 24 years old for undergraduate and junior college graduates. The age limit for postgraduate graduates and current students is relaxed to 26 years old. Female candidates must be between 18 and 22 years old in 2024.

Those who meet the recruitment conditions will be approved to enlist by the recruitment office of the people’s government at the county level. Prospective candidates are encouraged to register and apply for recruitment on the National Military Recruitment Network.

The announcement comes as the Chinese military seeks to attract young and qualified individuals to serve in various roles within the armed forces.
