Quart, the bills of the Tari increase

New regulation approved: price increases until 2023 for households

Already starting this year, the waste tax will suffer increases for Quart users. The increases come with the new regulation for the application of the Tari already approved by the city council to implement the national legislation.

“The main changes are due to the different classification of what is meant as urban waste and what is special waste,” Deputy Mayor Manuela Bergamasco explained to the city council. «In the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, the bills of our fellow citizens will increase. It should be remembered that the rates applied so far were those of 2019 since, due to the health and economic crisis, they had remained unchanged in 2020 ».

«The Region – added the deputy mayor – has increased the cost of transferring waste to landfills and this was one of the causes of the increase in tariffs. Added to this is the fact that Arera has shifted the imputation of some costs, putting it in the fixed part of the tariff, which is not subject to reductions. The 2021 Economic and Financial Plan for our Municipality therefore amounts to 761 thousand euros “.

The increases will mainly affect Quart’s domestic utility bills. However, the Municipality provides discounts for families in difficulty, different methods of paying the tax and the social bonus. Furthermore, «in the event of the availability of new resources, the Administration will be able to intervene with a contributory activity to meet the families for which, at the moment, there are no discounts. A deferred payment has been proposed, which could include more than two installments ».
