Since then his evolution was impressive, gaining many things; and it has been such that in 2023, at 19 years of age, he entered history by becoming the first Colombian to break under 10 seconds in the 100-meter dash.

In the South American Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was third and registered 9.99, qualifying for his first Olympic Games and setting a national record.

He was South American champion in 2023 in the 4×100 relay, bronze in the 100 meters, and bronze in the South American U-23 in Medellín.
