On Sunday, members of the judicial police at the Regional Security Commission in the city of Wadi Zem were able to dismantle a criminal network consisting of three people between the ages of 28 and 35 years, a person with a criminal record, a woman and her husband, suspected of being involved in cases related to fraud, fraud and sexual extortion.
Research data indicated that the first suspect, who is the subject of a nationwide search warrant, was involved in luring his victims into video calls and photographing them in obscene positions, then demanding sums of money from them in cash and encrypted digital currency in exchange for not publishing these contents, before extensive field research yielded results. He was identified and arrested in the city of Wadi Zam.
Hespress sources reported that searches carried out at the home of the first suspect resulted in the seizure of three mobile phones containing digital contents documenting sexual blackmail operations, while a light car and a significant sum of money were seized, suspected to be the proceeds of this criminal activity.
The ongoing investigation procedures in this case, according to the same sources, also enabled the arrest of the second suspect and his wife in the city of Ben Jarir, who are the managers of four money transfer agencies, who are suspected of extracting the sums of money that the person concerned was receiving from his victims in exchange for obtaining a portion of it. The completed search operation resulted in finding in their possession two mobile phones containing digital evidence of their connection to this criminal activity.
The suspects were kept under theoretical guard, subject to the investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, to uncover all circumstances and circumstances of this case, as well as identify all criminal acts attributed to those involved, and identify the remaining participants and contributors to this criminal activity.
