BOLOGNA. A new serious accident at work occurred at around 6 this morning in a warehouse of the DHL courier at the Bentivoglio Interport (Bologna), a few days after the death of the young Yaya Yafa, 22 years old from Guinea, on October 22nd got stuck between a flap and a heavy vehicle parked for loading goods. To be injured this time was a 21-year-old Italian, who lost six fingers, which were crushed in a gear. He is an employee of the company Recikla srl, a company that takes care of the maintenance of some plants inside the warehouses. From a first reconstruction, the young worker was in block 9.4 of the DHL and was replacing the chain of the parcel sorting roller, when for reasons under investigation, the same roller would have started to work again, cutting his fingers.

Rescued from 118, he was transported to the Maggiore hospital in Bologna in conditions of medium severity. The carabinieri of the Molinella company and the officials of occupational medicine intervened on the spot for the legal remarks. “We know that someone will have the courage to talk about fatality – writes the base union Si Cobas – but we know that this umpteenth and serious fact is nothing more than the consequence of working conditions in which safety is a secondary element, many times a nuisance. A few weeks ago, during a meeting, we had pointed out to a Manager and to the Rls of the warehouse in question the risk that the workers ran working at that pace; obviously no intervention, no precautions taken ». The same union announces that from 8 pm tonight a state of agitation will open in all DHL warehouses.
