this year’s season went really fast for our Slovak competitor. However, dozens of outings and races culminated in an amazing result. “This success is special for me as I achieved it with my new team and I am looking forward to the next season where we will fight and progress again. The feeling of being in first place and hearing the Slovak national anthem was unforgettable,” said Alexandra Rexová, who literally conquered the World Cup.

In total, our successful paraglider, together with her guide Hugo Rybár, managed to get an incredible 1,620 points for the entire season. She thus blew the most important skiing trophy to her two biggest rivals, Veronike Aigner from Austria and Meena Fitzpatrick from the United Kingdom.

The whole success is mainly due to Alexandra Rex’s amazing combativeness and perseverance, but the credit must go to the manager and coach Marek Garaj, and of course to the whole team. He evaluated the season briefly, humorously and with insight: “The agreement was to win the overall, Saška and Hugo fulfilled it, so I am satisfied.” It is the new team and the cooperation with coach and manager Marek Garaj that are behind the amazing results of our most successful paraplegic Alexandra Rex.

In the current season, the successful Slovak para-skier achieved 19 podium places in all four disciplines, thanks to which she also took silver from the finals for the overall ranking in slalom, giant slalom and super G, as well as bronze for the overall downhill ranking. Unfortunately, at the final event, the last race in the super G was canceled under controversial conditions, leaving Alexandra no longer in the running for the small crystal globe in this discipline, losing only 15 points to Britain’s Fitzpatrick.
