The Soffe Foundation and the Menydial Clinic join forces in a commemorative event at the health fair dedicated to raising awareness about kidney health. The event, which took place in Plaza Alfaro, brought together medical professionals, patients and members of the general community to promote the importance of prevention and kidney care.
SOFE Foundation (Forjando Esperanza Society) and the MENYDIAL Clinic joined together in a solidarity fair
In commemoration of International Kidney Day, the SOFE Foundation (Forjando Esperanza Society) and the MENIDIAL Clinic joined together in a solidarity fair on March 14, 2024. The event, which took place in Plaza Alfaro at the Sandra Landívar fair , vice president of the SOFE Foundation, highlighted the importance of solidarity and mutual support in the fight against cancer and kidney failure.
During the event, the various activities carried out by the foundation were presented, highlighting the making of wigs for cancer patients, a gesture of love and support in difficult times. These wigs are made thanks to the generosity of people who donate their hair and the efforts of volunteers. In addition, the foundation carries out a small business selling chocolates to cover minor expenses, with all funds raised destined exclusively to making wigs.
In addition to these activities, the SOFE Foundation offers entrepreneurship workshops for patients with kidney failure, providing comprehensive support to those facing this health condition. They are located in Almagro and 12 de Octubre behind the Isabel de Godin School.
Landívar expressed “That we unite, that we be a more human society in giving a hand to each other and facing these difficult diseases, that day by day many times a family member or ourselves could face this situation” expressed Landívar
David Vimos is an express nephrologist who belongs to the MENIDIAL clinic that provides services to patients with kidney pathologies. We work in different services, which are all renal replacement therapies in which we have hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, as well as in the outpatient clinic for the different pathologies that may have kidney involvement. Today we are celebrating March 14, World Kidney Day, trying to raise a little awareness about this pathology and trying to talk about some of the main pathologies in our country and tell you a little about the risk factors that can condition it. We are working together with the foundation to provide a little of this service to the community.
The solidarity fair in honor of International Kidney Day was a success, highlighting the commitment of both institutions to improving the quality of life of those who face these diseases.
