Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez spoke today from Palazzo della Moncloa, seat of the Prime Minister’s Office, to inform that he will not resign from his position. In recent days a Spanish court had decided to accept the complaints against his wife Begona Gomez, who is now on trial on charges of corruption and influence peddling.
Sanchez had communicated to his collaborators that he would take a few days to reflect, but today, despite accusing the inappropriate tolerance “of the mud that contaminates our public life”, he made it known his intention to continue leading the country’s government: thanking his supporters and the PSOE, he stated that “Thanks to this mobilization, I have decided to continue leading the presidency”.
