Zhangjiata Village in Luliang City Welcomes the New Year with Unique Cultural Activities

The Spring Festival in Zhangjiata Village, a traditional Chinese village with a history of over 350 years, located in Fangshan County, Luliang City, was celebrated with a novel and distinctive event called “Zhangjiata Taste of the New Year”. The event attracted a large number of tourists and citizens from surrounding areas who came to participate in the lively and rich cultural activities.

The village was filled with a strong Spring Festival atmosphere as people enjoyed colorful yangko performances, traditional lion dance, and other festive activities. The yangko performance, filled with joy and the spirit of the New Year, brought a sense of celebration to the village. The sight of men, women, and children of the village performing together in colorful traditional attire added to the festive atmosphere, making it a joyful occasion for all.

The lion dance performance was a big hit among tourists, with the energetic dancers bringing blessings and joy to the crowd. Visitors were intoxicated by the jubilant atmosphere and enjoyed the experience of traditional Chinese culture.

Additionally, Zhangjiata Village also offered a range of themed activities such as calligraphy, folk traditions, light shows, and gourmet fairs that added to the rich cultural experience and made the Spring Festival more vibrant and festive.

A visitor from Lishi, Luliang, Bai Yawei, expressed his happiness, saying, “It’s very fun here. There are Yangko dances, lion dances, maze walking, and a lot of delicious food. I’m very happy.”

Another visitor, Ms. Han from Lishi, Luliang, was excited by the opportunity to experience the village’s rich cultural heritage. “After coming to Zhangjiata, I felt the strong flavor of the New Year. There are rich folk activities here, including lion dance, Yangko dance, and mysterious corridors. You can also wear this kind of Hanfu and experience the Ming and Qing Dynasties architectural style, feeling the charm of Hanfu. I think it is a worthwhile trip,” she shared.

Zhangjiata Village has been recognized as an ancient village from the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was included in the fourth batch of Chinese traditional villages in 2016. The efforts include leveraging its unique architectural and folklore resources, and introducing infrastructure improvements and cultural performances.
