Stabilizing jobs and retaining workers “helping enterprises thrive” | Nantong launches various recruitment activities and service initiatives

by admin

Nantong, China – In a bid to support enterprises in stabilizing work and production before and after the Spring Festival, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau in Nantong has announced the launch of various recruitment activities and service initiatives. The move comes as the results of the 2024 enterprise labor demand survey were released, highlighting a steadily expanding scale of employment and rising demand for labor.

According to the survey, conducted among more than 12,000 companies, nearly 5,000 have labor demand, with the total number of people needed exceeding 120,000. This marks a positive trend in the region’s employment landscape and indicates growth and stability in the market.

To support enterprises in recruiting workers and strengthening employment service guarantees, the municipal human resources and social security department has implemented measures such as enterprise recruitment subsidies, employment incentives recommended by human resources agencies, and transportation subsidies for workers coming to work or returning to work. These initiatives aim to promote a good start in the first quarter and provide much-needed support to businesses.

The survey also revealed a 3.62% increase in labor demand in the first quarter, reflecting the good development of enterprises, an increase in production orders, and the advance reserves in response to the movement of people after the Spring Festival. The employment demand is mainly concentrated in emerging industries such as new materials and new energy, with a significant increase in demand for R&D and mid-to-high-level skills positions.

In a bid to retain workers, companies have launched “hidden benefits” such as on-the-job subsidies for left-behind employees, family visit subsidies, and New Year red envelopes. These efforts have seen a positive response, with about 96.7% of corporate employees expressing their willingness to return to work as soon as possible after the holiday.

In the post-holiday period, Nantong is planning and organizing a total of 12 overseas recruitment routes and participating in 21 job fairs in 10 provinces. The city has also launched a “trinity” recruitment service system of on-site recruitment, online recruitment, and live broadcast recruitment to help enterprises kickstart their hiring efforts.

Additionally, the Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau will focus on major project enterprises, advanced manufacturing cluster enterprises, and specialized new enterprises to optimize the “Enterprise Warming Action” contact service mechanism, providing employment guidance, human resources supply and demand docking, and other services to help enterprises stabilize operations and production.

The efforts to stabilize jobs and retain workers are proving to be crucial in helping enterprises thrive, and the support from Nantong’s human resources and social enterprises is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s employment landscape.
