The Tesãi Foundation, social axis of Itaipú Binacional, made a million-dollar donation consisting of a modern digitalized districts and colonies of the South Zone of Monday.
Digital X-ray equipment
This is the acquisition of digitalized radiological equipment that replaces the conventional radiological machine with chemical development and higher image resolution, better daily image productivity and lower radiation dose. The monetary investment of the Tesãi Foundation reaches 550 million guaraníes, according to the data.
Rehabilitation of Dentistry service
On the occasion, the Dentistry service was also rehabilitated with the provision of equipment, supplies and materials, taking into account that the Hospital had not had the specialty for four years. Dr. Raquel Coronel Arévalos will be the new professional in charge of the Dentistry room, hired through the efforts of the Local Health Council and the municipality of Santa Rita.
A new dental chair with all its accessories, dental x-ray equipment and supplies for various treatments are part of the improvements introduced to the Hospital.
The strengthening of the Imaging and Dentistry service was a felt necessity, taking into account that the X-ray room had conventional equipment with limited operational capacity, with direct benefit to families with limited economic resources who visit the reference establishment daily.
“We want the good of Paraguay”
Dr. Noelia Torres, director of the Tenth Health Region, said that we must think about Paraguay “the fundamental thing is teamwork, no one wants to show off, no one is jealous of anyone, we all want the good of Paraguay, this is for Alto Paraná and that our people receive dignified attention as they deserve,” emphasized the representative of the Minister of Health Dr. María Teresa Barán.
“The benefit will be for about 100 thousand people”
The governor of Alto Paraná, Eng. César Torres, highlighted the commitment of the President of the Republic Santiago Peña and the Paraguayan director of Itaipú to work to improve the quality of life and well-being of thousands of compatriots in vulnerable situations.
“The benefit will be for about 100 thousand people in the South Zone of Monday. We are happy for this great investment by the Tesãi Foundation to the Santa Rita District Hospital, a coordinated work between the Ministry of Health and the institutions. This was an imperative need not only for the municipality but for the entire region,” he stressed.
“Santa Rita with a gigantic paso”
The Dr. Fernando Bittinger, executive manager of the Tesãi Foundation, stated that the National Government and Itaipú Binacional seek to integrate health services from both the Ministry of Health, Tenth Health Region, IPS, Tesãi Foundation, as well as District Hospitals to respond effectively to the demands of the most deprived population.
“Itaipú always supports us as the Tesãi Foundation, we are showing that this can be done outside our geographical location, the entire Alto Paraná must benefit. Even the bed has a capacity for 280 and 300 kilos, it will no longer be necessary to transfer a morbidly obese patient to another place,” he explained.
Local Health Council
The Local Health Council in charge of the Abg. Diego Coronel, municipal councilor of this district, was in charge of carrying out the renovation and comprehensive repair of paint, walls and ceiling, changing the ceramic floor, renovating the water pipe system, acquiring shelves, desks, maintenance of the air conditioning system and renovation of lighting.
Added to all this is the expansion of the X-ray room with a change of ceramic floor, painting, wall, ceiling, doors, improvement of the electrical system for the new with resources from the municipality of Santa Rita, administration Lic. Edgar Torres, through the Local Health Council.
“We are the only District Hospital in the region”
Dr. Verónica Silvero, director of the Santa Rita District Hospital, mentioned that they are the axis of the South Monday zone, in an area of influence that encompasses six surrounding districts. “We are level II of care, we are the only District Hospital in the entire area, we cover six districts such as Naranjal, San Cristóbal, Raúl Peña, Iruña, Tavapy, Santa Rosa del Monday. This means that we will no longer have limitations, it was difficult for us with conventional equipment to obtain the supplies for the cost, now we have made a gigantic leap,” said the professional.
He noted that on average they serve about 6,700 patients monthly in the different services, offices, emergencies, hospitalizations, procedures and outpatient clinics without discrimination against any compatriot or foreigner who comes from other urban, suburban or rural communities.
“It is a historic achievement for Santa Rita”
The Abg. Diego Coronel, president of the Local Health Council of Santa Rita and municipal councilor, thanked the National Government, “a historic achievement because this city has many needs, we are taking giant steps in terms of health, nothing more than to thank the Municipal Board and tell them that from the Local Health Council we are going to continue doing our part so that every day we can serve our people better,” he expressed excitedly.
