The new appointment of the “The ABC of the territory” cycle organized by the “The ABC of the territory” will be held tomorrow afternoon, starting at 6 pm Casa del Popolo “La Conviviale” in progress Dante 50/52 a Vast. The protagonist of the meeting will be prof. Rossano Pazzagliteacher ofUniversity of Molise.
Pazzagli is one of the most authoritative Italian scholars of territorial policies, the rural world, landscape and internal areas, and the author of numerous publications on economic and social history and environmental history.
It will be an opportunity to discuss and think about the processes of contemporary urban and industrial development which have marked a profound rift between urban areas and rural and mountain areas, also marking a territorial differentiation also in terms of citizenship rights and access to essential services of local communities.
Starting from these considerations, the meeting aims to stimulate a reflection on the way in which human communities interact with the surrounding environment, leveraging the need today to abandon extractive and developmentalist models, to try to activate those practices of sustainable self-development through an expanded look at those urban territorial systems that interact with inland, mountain and rural areas.
