The Attorney General’s Office has filed charges against the general treasurer of the Mayor’s Office of Garzón, Huila, Diana Milena Gómez Clarosand the university professional, Wilson Lombana Galíndez, for the alleged theft by computer means of nearly $600 million from the accounts of the territorial entity, transferred to the account of an individual.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Gómez Claros, who was in charge of the custody and management of municipal funds since 2020, would have acted recklessly and negligently, which supposedly led to the loss of resources. He is charged with two transfers of funds from the Treasury to savings accounts, which were later collected by an individual in Cali, Valle del Cauca.

In the case of Lombana Galíndez, a systems engineer since 2011, He was charged with allegedly misappropriating money for the benefit of a third party.. The Attorney General maintains that The engineer used his knowledge to manipulate the equipment from which the movements of the $581 million were made, overcoming computer security measures and manipulating the municipality’s systems and networks.
Besides, He is charged with a second charge for apparently destroying or deleting the software on Gómez Claros’ computer., used to carry out the criminal act. It is alleged that Lombana Galíndez reinstalled the operating system without leaving a mirror copy, thus hindering the possibility of using it as evidence.
The Attorney General’s Office described the possible conduct of Gómez Claros as a very serious offense as very serious fault, and in the case of Lombana Galíndez, as very serious fault by way of fraud for both charges. Both officials must face a disciplinary process to determine their responsibility in this alleged act of corruption.
