The Attorney General’s Office has initiated a preliminary investigation against officials yet to be determined of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), in relation to possible irregularities in the contracts signed to address the emergency derived from the winter wave that affected the country at the end of 2022.

According to the complaint filed by a councilor from Bogotá, the control entity seeks to clarify whether irregular acts were committed in the bilateral agreements signed through Previsora ​​SA, charged to the administration and payment trust —Patrimonio Autónomo Fondo Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo of Disasters—FNGRD.

The Second Delegate Attorney General’s Office for State Contracting has requested detailed information from the UNGRD on the number of contracts entered into under the disaster declaration and documentation that allows knowing their execution.

The main objective of this disciplinary investigation is to determine the technical, financial, legal and economic status of the contracts signed, as well as to examine the actions carried out by the corresponding supervision and audit.

The Public Ministry seeks to identify and individualize those possibly responsible for the alleged irregularities reported, clarify the circumstances in which these events occurred and determine whether it is necessary to continue with disciplinary action in this regard.
