Optimistic about the results obtained during version 19 of Expofestival, within the framework of the 56 Vallenato Legend Festival, due to the participation of more than 600 entrepreneurs, the president of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Urón, makes a strong call to public and private banks so that “they are not afraid and lend money to micro-entrepreneurs, who are the most honest people in the financial sector.”
Expofestival, the largest commercial showcase in the Department of Cesar, was a success for more than 600 micro-entrepreneurs and merchants, who offered their products and services for five days, generating sales of more than 650 million pesos and the presence of 150,000 visitors. .
“It is essential that banks offer soft loans and grace periods to microentrepreneurs. In the same way, we have to promote the step towards legality and put aside the informal trade that generates unfair competition”.
Urón asked that the Ministry of Labor promote public policies for the progress of the region. “If with Expofestival it was possible to generate around 1,000 jobs, we will be able to do much more with tourist bets that obtain the attention of the corresponding organizations. It is a win win, for transportation, hotels and Vallenato families, ”he said.
He reiterated that the National Government must look at the impact generated by the Vallenata Legend Festival, hence the importance of offering its support to move towards business formalization.
THE TIME HAS ARRIVED TO DARE
Octavio Pico Malaver, president of Fenalco-Cesar, stated that in the trade sector the route is clear, it is necessary to diversify, dare and bet on new alternatives that allow the development of the sector.
This would be the initial step for the growth of the city, the path towards legality that allows adding value to commercial activity in the territory. “It’s time to think about what I can do for my city, and not expect others to do it,” he said.
