A prosecutor achieved that Raúl Antonio Gamba Mora, alias Willy, who was allegedly the mastermind and determiner of the kidnappings and extortions carried out by the criminal group ‘Los Alacranes’, had his capture legalized.
This was carried out by court order in San Vicente de Chucurí (Santander) and was presented before a judge with a guarantee control function. The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with the crimes of aggravated criminal conspiracy, consummated aggravated extortionate kidnapping, qualified theft, charges that he did not accept.

Last October, two citizens were kidnapped in the Túa River, near the municipality of Monterrey (Casanare), and for their release they demanded a significant sum of money. But once the investigation was carried out, it was possible to establish the existence of a structure calling itself ‘Los Alacranes’, to whom not only this fact but two more plagiarisms and four processes for extortion are attributed.
Likewise, on February 29, Dagoberto Castañeda and Luz Daila Amaya were captured in Villanueva (Casanare) and Villavicencio (Meta) respectively, who, apparently, had participated in the kidnapping of a rancher from the municipality of Monterrey (Casanare), for the one who asked for money for his ransom.

Castañeda and Amaya were charged by a prosecutor assigned to the Casanare section, before a judge with a guarantee control function, as allegedly responsible for the crimes of aggravated extortionate kidnapping, aggravated illegal possession of firearms and qualified and aggravated robbery, charges that were not they accepted. However, their captures were legalized at the request of the accusing body.
Similarly, Wilder Mejía Lascarro was captured in the city of Bucaramanga (Santander) because he was apparently related to the kidnappings that occurred in October of the immediately previous year in the municipality of Monterrey.
Mejía Lascarro, who presented himself as a community leader, was charged with the crimes of aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated extortionate kidnapping and illegal possession of weapons, charges that were not upheld by a judge who protected him with a prison sentence.
