China-Laos Railway International Passenger Train Celebrates First Anniversary
The China-Laos Railway international passenger train marked its first anniversary on April 13, with impressive achievements in passenger numbers and punctuality rates. According to reports from Guangming Daily, the international passenger trains have transported a total of 700,000 passengers in the past year, including 180,000 cross-border passengers from 87 countries and regions.
The punctuality rates for both train departure and arrival are notable, with the departure being 100% punctual and the final arrival punctuality rate reaching 99%. This demonstrates the safety, stability, and efficiency of the transportation services provided by the China-Laos Railway international passenger trains.
The routes of the international passenger trains connect major tourist cities such as Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Luang Prabang, and Vientiane, enabling passengers to easily visit cultural and natural attractions along the line. This has led to an increase in tourism and facilitated greater international travel between China and Laos.
The occupancy rate of the international passenger trains has remained consistently high, with the highest single-day occupancy rate reaching 100%. This has had a positive impact on the tourism industry in Xishuangbanna, Luang Prabang, and other cities along the route, boosting economic development and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
To celebrate the anniversary, the China-Laos Railway D85 international passenger train embarked on a journey from Jinghong Railway Station in Xishuangbanna to Luang Prabang, Laos. Operating four days a week, the train stops at six stations and offers a same-day round trip option between Xishuangbanna and Luang Prabang, providing passengers with convenient and efficient cross-border transportation services.
The success of the China-Laos Railway international passenger train in its first year of operation highlights the growing importance of international rail connections in promoting tourism, cultural exchanges, and economic cooperation between countries.
