The Foreign Minister of Bolivia, Celinda Sosa Lunda, arrived in Venezuela on Thursday, where she plans to meet with authorities of the government of Nicolás Maduro with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations, reported the Venezuelan Vice Minister for Latin America, Rander Peña.
The official received the chancellor at the Maiquetía international airport, which serves Caracas, according to the images he published on the social network. X.
«On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we have welcomed the Foreign Minister of Bolivia, Celinda Sosa Lunda, who arrives in the country on an official visit to fulfill a work agenda with the purpose of strengthening relations between our countries. “Welcome, Chancellor!” wrote Peña in X.
Sosa Lunda arrives in Venezuela after visiting Nicaragua and Cuba, where he met with the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Last September, the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the strengthening of cooperation with Bolivia, during a meeting with his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Arce, who made a stopover of less than two hours in the oil country.
Both countries signed, in April of last year, a set of agreements to “facilitate and promote bilateral cooperation in the area of oil, natural gas and petrochemicals”, as well as to evaluate “the feasibility of business models” for the execution of projects and “joint transactions” in gas matters.
Then, Arce assured Maduro that he has “a great ally” in Bolivia, and promised to continue doing “all the work necessary to consolidate” bilateral relations.
