NEW YORK – 150,000 Ukrainians and 600,000 Russians live in New York – it is the largest concentration of the Russian-speaking population outside Eurasia. New York’s Ukrainians and Russians mostly live in Brighton Beach, a Brooklyn neighborhood on the Atlantic also known as “Little Odessa”. Many arrived in the United States in the 1990s after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
