SAN FIOR. The bronze bust depicting Guglielmo Marconi, the only work in Italy created by the sculptor Carlo Balljana, located in the town hall in the square named after the inventor of the radio, Nobel Prize for physics 1909, has been inaugurated in San Fior.

The event began with the interventions of the mayor of San Fior Giuseppe Maset and the head teacher Loredana Buffoni. This was followed by the reflections of the members of the municipal council for boys and the representatives of the third grades of the “S. Barozzi ”of San Fior. Present Giuliano Nanni, past-president of the Guglielmo Marconi Philatelic Circle, author of many Marconi publications.

The ceremony continued with the reading by the councilor Luigi Tonetto of the message sent by the president of the Region Luca Zaia and with the interventions of Franca Lolli delegate of the Municipality of Sasso Marconi and Stefano Marcon president of the Province. The Pradevai choir performed the Hymn of Mameli, which was followed by the blessing by the parish priest Don Domenico Valentino. The work was carried out with the contribution of Banca della Marca and the Evaristo Antoniazzi and Gianni Miraval families.
