The Second Session of the 13th Provincial CPPCC Opens
The second meeting of the 13th Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference opened in Chengdu on the morning of January 21. The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Governor of the Province.
Provincial CPPCC Chairman Tian Xiangli, Vice Chairman Zhong Mian, Du Heping, Yao Sidan, Lin Shucheng, Ouyang Zehua, Liu Chengming, Yang Dan, Xie Shanghua, Liu Xuguang, Xu Weilin, and Secretary General Li Jianqin were seated in the front row of the rostrum. Other notable attendees included Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Jiang Pingping, Deputy Political Commissar of Lieutenant General of the Western Theater Command and Political Commissar of the Air Force of the Western Theater Command.
The meeting was attended by 849 out of the expected 877 committee members, meeting the stipulated number. The opening ceremony was hosted by Zhong Mian, who announced the opening of the second session of the 13th Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
During the meeting, Tian Xiangli made a work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC Sichuan Provincial Committee. The report highlighted the achievements and progress made in various areas, as well as the upcoming goals for the coming year. Yang Dan also reported on the progress of proposals since the first session of the 13th CPPCC Provincial Committee.
Wang Xiaohui delivered a speech at the meeting, expressing warm congratulations on the convening of the conference on behalf of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and extending sincere greetings to all CPPCC members and comrades present. He reflected on the past year and emphasized the need for continued efforts to promote the development of the province and serve the overall interests of the country.
The meeting was also attended by leading comrades of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, the provincial government, the provincial court, the provincial procuratorate, and the troops stationed in Sichuan, as well as members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Sichuan, and the 13th Provincial People’s Congress Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-General of the 12th Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Overall, the second session of the 13th Provincial CPPCC aimed to review the progress and achievements of the past year and set new goals for the coming year, with a focus on promoting high-quality development and serving the overall interests of the province and the country.
