Starting today, Colombian drivers must prepare to face a new increase in the price of gasoline, confirmed by the National Federation of Fuel and Energy Distributors, Fendipetróleo. This increase responds to a change in the percentage of ethanol contained in gasoline, which goes from 8% to 10%, as part of efforts to reduce the environmental impact of fuels in the country.
The increase in the percentage of ethanol implies an additional increase of 94 pesos in the cost of fuel. As a result, the price of a gallon of gasoline in the country’s main cities will experience an adjustment, going from $15,320 to $15,416.
Rates per gallon in some major cities will be as follows:
Bogotá: $15,830 Medellín: $15,757 Cali: $15,843 Barranquilla: $15,489 Cartagena: $15,449 Montería: $15,699 Bucaramanga: $15,599 Villavicencio: $15,930 Pereira: $15,784 Pasto: $13,573 Cúcuta: $13,895
It is important to note that, despite the general increase, the price of ACPM experienced an increase at the beginning of the month and will not be affected by this latest increase.
This adjustment in the price of gasoline reflects the country’s commitment to the search for more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives. However, it also poses new economic challenges for drivers and the transportation sector in general.
