The Provincial Safety Committee recently held a video and telephone conference on preventing major production safety accidents in the second quarter, as reported by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government Portal.
During the conference, members discussed the importance of addressing existing problems and weak links identified during inspections and comprehensive assessments in the province. They emphasized the need to analyze these issues thoroughly, acknowledge shortcomings, and implement precise law enforcement measures to improve the overall safety level.
Key tasks identified during the meeting included tackling the root causes of production safety through a three-year action plan, focusing on key industries such as transportation, construction, industry, mining, hazardous chemicals, and electric bicycles. Special attention was also given to fire safety measures, seasonal risk prevention, and safety precautions during the upcoming “May Day” holiday period.
Zhang Hu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, delivered a speech at the conference, highlighting the importance of implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on production safety and complying with the directives of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government.
The conference concluded with a call for all localities, departments, and units to work together to enhance safety management and control measures, ensuring a stable and orderly security situation in the province. Participants were urged to focus on both short-term corrections and long-term solutions to prevent future safety incidents.
