Alumni agree: “He helped us grow, he always had a word of comfort for everyone”
BELLUNO
“Don Elio was the Lollino high school.” Pupils and alumni have no doubts. In more than twenty years of presidency, Don Elio has left his mark on many young people. Generations of students owe him a lot. His goal was to make the school environment as familiar as possible. And in fact in via San Pietro there is a particular atmosphere. Today, in more technological times, it defines itself as #dimensionelollino.
«Going to school, if only to greet those who have been my teachers», says Elena Cassol, a former high school student, «will never be the same again. Don Elio was that person who was always present, ready to listen to you and, in case of need, ready to lend a hand ».
In addition to the questions, there was something else: a dense web, made up of friendship and relationships. Pupils today remember him as a teacher attentive to the diversity and characters of people. “Having Don Elio was a privilege,” says Anna Molinari. “We can only thank him for having him both as a teacher and as a confidant. He taught us the true values of school and, moreover, how to best live in a happy and free way. Now the most difficult mission will be to replace the smile that greeted us at the front door every morning and its maxims in moments of despair ».
After having handed over the duties to Don Giuseppe Bratti, he had retained the position of vice-principal. Thus remaining a point of reference for everyone. All the boys passed by him, those who had arrived late, as well as those who needed comfort after an interrogation that went wrong. Don Elio was a good and generous person (no grades suggest someone), capable of measuring words for the good of the students. “Learning this news was a cold shower,” says Stefano D’Antimo. “A person is leaving who in five years has helped me grow; to become a man “.
Don Elio’s funeral will take place on Monday afternoon, then he will rest in the Auronzo cemetery. –
