Within the framework of the monthly meetings held by the Regional Water Committee in line with the royal directives related to the management of water scarcity problems, the meeting hall of the Ifrane Province Prefecture was scheduled on Thursday, February 15, 2024, for the second monthly meeting of the aforementioned committee, headed by the General Secretary of Labor and in the presence of the President of the Regional Council and the gentlemen and heads of the territorial councils in the region. Local authorities and representatives of regional and regional external interests.
This meeting was devoted to deliberating and evaluating the previously established measures, which mainly concern measures related to managing the problem of water scarcity at the regional level.
The meeting included the presentation of two presentations by the regional authorities for potable water and a presentation by the study office on the project to treat the water network in the city of Azrou, in addition to the interventions of the heads of territorial communities, local authorities and representatives of some concerned external interests, which unanimously agreed on the positive interaction of the population with the global decision aimed at preserving resources. Water resources and confronting the problems of their scarcity on the one hand, and the continuity of providing drinking water to the population and working to use it rationally with good management and preservation. All interventions expressed the actual and serious involvement in implementing all procedures and measures related to good water management, whether related to drinking or agricultural exploitation, through campaigns. Sensitization and addressing the deficiency that exists in some points in the region.
At the conclusion of this meeting, the Secretary General of Labor stressed the need to continue the work related to awareness-raising and for civil society associations to play their role alongside other actors to contribute to framing and sensitizing the population about the importance of preserving water and avoiding all behaviors that aim to illegal and excessive exploitation of water.
