The second session of the 14th Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress held the third plenary session on the morning of January 27. During the session, Tang Dengjie was elected as the director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Chen Anli was elected as the deputy director. Provincial leaders, including Tang Dengjie, Jin Xiangjun, Wu Cunrong, and Zhang Chunlin, attended the meeting and took seats on the rostrum.

The meeting was attended by 547 representatives, with 527 present and 20 absent, which complied with the required quorum. Voting was conducted to approve the list of general vote-getters, scrutineers, and total vote-takers, and then elections were held. The election results confirmed Tang Dengjie as the director and Chen Anli as the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the 14th People’s Congress of Shanxi Province.

Following the election, the newly elected director and deputy director took the constitutional oath in accordance with the “Shanxi Provincial Measures for Organizing and Implementing the Constitutional Oath”. The election results were confirmed by the presidium as valid, and the secret voting process was carried out with the presence of a secret ticket office at the venue.

Overall, the meeting was successful in electing new leadership for the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and the constitutional oath was administered in accordance with the established procedures. (Reporter Yang Wen)
