UDINE. He died in circumstances yet to be ascertained, in London, Armando Zamparini, 23-year-old son of the former patron of Palermo football Maurizio Zamparini and his partner Laura Giordani.
Armando Zamparini was in England for study reasons and yesterday morning he was found dead in his hotel room. The parents are on their way to England to join their son. Armando is the last born in the Zamparini home, the only child of the second marriage.
During the Zamparini management (born in Bagnaria Arsa 79 years ago and former owner of the Mercatone di Palmanova) of the Palermo football team, it often happened that Armandino, as they called him in the city, spent time on the pitch playing with the rosanero players at the end of training.
«I didn’t know Armando – explained the mayor of Aiello Andrea Bellavite – because he had been studying abroad for some time. But the Zamparini family is known to everyone here in the town. And when I learned that this boy passed away, I was annihilated, speechless, as I believe the whole community. It is a very hard blow, for the family, for the relatives who live here in the area, for all of us. And it is in everyone’s name that I would like to express absolute closeness to this family. There are no words to express the pain and amazement we feel in the face of the mystery of life and death ».
