The Sp 251 for the Val di Zoldo reopens tomorrow at 12

Veneto Streets is completing the installation of splinter protection barriers and sensors on the gigantic boulder which must be constantly monitored.

VAL DI ZOLDO. The Sp 251 for the Val di Zoldo will reopen tomorrow, Monday 11 April, at 12. Veneto Streets is completing the installation of splinter barriers and sensors that will allow to constantly monitor the movement of the unstable and “uncovered” gigantic boulder following the fire of the last few weeks.

Last wake up at dawn, therefore, tomorrow for students and workers, who will still be forced to walk the steps to reach Valbelluna to go to school and work. On the way back, however, they will be able to reach Val di Zoldo through the Sp 251, which is closed from 23 March.

The road will therefore reopen, but the mayor Camillo De Pellegrin reiterates the need for a definitive safety of the road system: “We cannot stand every day to look at the sky, hoping that it will not rain because in the event of an orange or red weather alert the 251 will close again”, he says. “This situation must be temporary, the time has come to secure the road for all the people who live in the valley, who do business there, and not to destroy the tourism sector”.
