Military sources said that the army intensified its military operations towards the state of Al-Jazira and advanced significantly towards the city of Wad Madani, the capital of the state, and was able to destroy the main force present in the areas south of Madani, while the militia lost large numbers of its members and destroyed a large number of Janjaweed vehicles.
An eyewitness revealed that the armed forces present in the Al-Faw area of Gedaref State prevented citizens from going to Gezira State via Gedaref, at a time when sources reported that the army was imposing a tight siege on the city of Wad Madani, amid a complete outage of telephone networks in Gezira State.
The governor of the island had announced an imminent victory and that the citizens of the island would fast the month of Ramadan in the state.
According to a source, the Sudanese army is imposing a kind of siege on the island’s capital through the “Sennar – Al-Manaqil – Al-Faw” triangle, in which the armed forces are present in large numbers.
It is worth noting that the Sudanese army forces stormed from the south the Al-Kasih resort in the city of Wad Madani and neutralized all the rebel terrorist Rapid Support militia forces present inside it.
