In the production of car batteries, Europe lags behind Asian countries, especially China, and the United States. Recently, the Union has been trying to catch up by strategically supporting investments in research and production capacities.

Now member countries have approved draft legislation that will clarify the rules for the sector throughout the battery life cycle – from production to recycling.
