Heavy Rainfall Alert: Guangxi to Experience Extreme Weather Conditions

China Weather Network has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the Guangxi region for the next three days, specifically from May 9th to 11th. Residents in cities such as Baise, Hechi, Chongzuo, Nanning, Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, Yulin, and Guilin are advised to be cautious as the heavy rain will be accompanied by strong convection, potentially leading to secondary disasters.

Yesterday, southern and western Guangxi were already hit by continuous heavy rains and even red rainstorm warning signals were sounded in many cities and counties. The National Meteorological Observation Station in Zhongdong Town, Fusui recorded a maximum rainfall of 225 mm.

The forecast from Guangxi Meteorological Observatory predicts moderate to heavy rains in the mentioned cities, with showers expected in other areas. The northern part of Guangxi is expected to experience light to moderate rain, while the southern part will see cloudy weather with showers.

From tomorrow night to the day after tomorrow, northern Guangxi is expected to face light to moderate rain, heavy rain, and strong convective weather such as thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail. Southern Guangxi will remain cloudy with scattered showers.

Residents are urged to stay informed and vigilant as the soil moisture content in some areas of Guangxi remains high from previous rainfall, increasing the risk of flash floods, debris flows, landslides, collapses, urban and rural waterlogging, and river floods.

For updates on the weather forecast, residents are encouraged to check the “China Weather Network” WeChat official account, “China Weather” Weibo, and “China Weather” Douyin. Stay safe and take necessary precautions during this period of extreme weather conditions.
