During this event, which included the participation of the Minister of Agriculture, Jhenifer Mojica, and other representatives of the agricultural sector; The governor of Casanare, César Ortiz Zorro, announced that he began the agroindustrialization project in Casanare. “We announce an investment of more than $150,000 million pesos for the expansion of areas and the construction of agro-industrial plants for coffee, corn, cocoa, livestock, pork and cereals” were the words of the president who also thanked the minister for her contribution and believe in the commitment to transform and industrialize the countryside, as well as the generation of thousands of jobs in the department.

The investment of these resources will be used in the projects of a corn plant in Yopal, two rice drying plants in San Luis de Palenque and Paz de Ariporo, cocoa and coffee development, low-carbon livestock, a pig slaughter plant in Yopal, among others.

In this commitment to transformation and industrialization of the countryside, the signing of six strategic alliances or memoranda of understanding was also carried out between the Government of Casanare and Agrosavia, The Nature Conservancy, Fedepalma and Cenipalma, UPRA and Usaid Colombia, as well as an agreement of wills with the Ministry of Agriculture. These agreements aim to advance joint projects for the strengthening, development, sustainability and innovation of the agricultural sector, as well as agree on high-impact strategic investments that contribute to consolidating regional development.

The Secretary of Economic Development, Agriculture, Livestock and Environment, Alexi Duarte, highlighted that these achievements are the result of the leadership and commitment of the Governor of Casanareños with the productive sector; In addition, it represents a significant advance in the materialization of the commitment to return importance to the countryside, strengthening and industrializing the agricultural sector, under the premise that the future of the country is in this sector and in Orinoquia is the food pantry that Colombia needs. and the world.
