The vice first sergeant of the National Army, Ronald Esteban Palacio Álvarez, 41, was injured with four gunshot wounds, at which time the vehicle in which he was traveling was attacked by gunfire.
The case happened on the trail of Altos de Pimienta and Los Caminos, rural area of Valledupar, when the soldier who was in the company of First Corporal Danilo Cancimance Camacho, 30 years old, were surprised by at least six armed individuals mobilized on motorcycles. , they surrounded them and shot at the Kia truck in which the uniformed officers were traveling.
In the Palacio Álvarez attack, he was wounded with three projectiles in the right arm and another in the right axillary region, therefore he was transferred to the Eduardo Arredondo Daza Hospital, La Nevada headquarters and then referred to a clinic in the city.
Likewise, the police report indicated that Cancimance Camacho was unharmed and that he fired at the criminals with his weapon, apparently leaving one injured. However, National Police patrols searched clinics and hospitals for any injured individuals, but they were not located.
“A padlock plan was immediately activated to search vehicles, motorcycles and people to find the location of the perpetrators,” the Police said.
It should be noted that both soldiers are assigned to the La Popa Battalion of this capital, where they were going at the time of the event. Both the motives and the perpetrators are being investigated.
