The good performance of the vaccination campaign is one of the variables to which the government links the gradual relaxation of anti-Covid restrictions. Before gradually returning to normality, Prime Minister Mario Draghi waits to verify the constant decline in the contagion curve, the easing of pressure on hospitals and the continuity of the vaccination campaign.
Minimum third doses
But the government does not miss the data of the drop in vaccinations. Last week, according to data from Lab24, the average of the first doses was 17,500 per day. All-time low and almost half of the previous week’s 30,000. But to sound the alarm bell is above all the collapse of the third doses. We are at 36.5 million administrations. It means that nearly 62% of the population made the recall.
Vaccines without reservation
But the daily average of third doses is in constant decline. Last week it was 156 thousand administrations compared to 245 thousand in the previous week and the peak of 530 thousand recorded in the week 10-16 January). So much so that many hubs close and almost all the regions return to make vaccines without reservations and to organize open days.
Lazio at the top of the regional ranking
Also based on Lab24 data, the ranking of the regions based on the percentage of the audience immunized with third dose on the podium are Lazio (72.6%), Puglia (71.7%) and Umbria (71.3%). At the bottom of the ranking Sicily (57.9%), the autonomous province of Bolzano (60.5%) and Calabria (61.7%).
