Yom Hashoah is the public reading of the names of the victims of the Holocaust (on the sixth of May, for example, in Prague’s Pinkas Synagogue). On the site of the former camp for Roma and Sinti in Lety u Písek, an annual memorial service will take place (on the twelfth of May). On the fifteenth of May, Tryzna will be on the site of the Terezín ghetto.

Etel Senderovičová left behind a few pages of text. She wrote it a few days before her death at the age of eighty-three. Condensed horror, pain, suffering… evil. One of many unknown names. The book, published by her son Milan Kopecký, has the subtitle “Even in hell you will meet Angels”.
The motto of the book is: “Don’t try to understand the horrors, try to remember them.” The formulation “it cannot be understood, but it must not be forgotten” is incomplete. Getting up from the chair is our duty, our conscience, our responsibility. Get up from your chair and take action for a dignified life and a dignified death.
Getting up from the chair is not enough. It is necessary to get up all the time and at every opportunity. For example, now that Israel is once again in existential danger, provoked by the aggression of Hamas terrorists. Or against the aggression of the terrorist Russian state in Ukraine and the like.
