In a recent operation, authorities from the department of Huila managed to capture two women who were clandestinely transporting a considerable shipment of marijuana destined for the city of Bogotá.
The narcotic, with a total weight of 105 kilograms, was found hidden in the holds of a public transport vehicle that covered the Garzón-Bogotá route.
The intervention, carried out by members of the Huila Transit and Transportation Section, made it possible to discover the drugs camouflaged between travel suitcases and cardboard boxes inside the vehicle. According to preliminary investigations, the shipment of marijuana was boarded in the municipality of Garzón by the two women, who would have hidden the narcotic substance in the hold of the vehicle, without suspecting that they would be intercepted before reaching their destination.

The two involved, natives of the municipalities of Pital and Acevedo, were placed at the disposal of the 48th Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Drug Trafficking, where they must answer for the alleged crime of drug trafficking.
Colonel William Javier Lara Avendaño, in charge of the operation, highlighted the diligent work of the uniformed officers, whose expertise allowed the detection and confiscation of the marijuana shipment. Thanks to the meticulous verification of the luggage and the collaboration of the passengers, this illegal operation was dismantled, thus preventing the distribution and marketing of the substance in the clandestine market.
