Val di Zoldo, De Pellegrin challenges the quorum: “Citizens should go and vote”

by admin

A hand to the outgoing mayor will come from the new law that has lowered the participation threshold to 40%, excluding those registered in Aire

VAL DI ZOLDO. Challenge against the quorum in Val di Zoldo, where only one list was filed: that of the outgoing mayor, Camillo De Pellegrin. “Now the community must make a choice: decide whether to have a municipality governed by a mayor elected by the citizens, who can be present in the area and who knows the existing dynamics, or whether to have a commissioner,” De Pellegrin said. “It’s all in the hands of the citizens, whom I hope will vote on 3 and 4 October”.

It is true that the quorum has been lowered to 40 percent and that the Aire are no longer counted, but it is still necessary that around 1,100 Zoldani go to vote. And half of these must cast a valid vote: the null ballot does not count. In short, De Pellegrin needs at least 600 votes to become mayor for another five years.

“I am very sorry that the other list has not been presented, because I believe it is always important to have an opposition in the city council, especially when this is done in a constructive way”, continues the candidate for mayor. «With my group we had evaluated the opportunity to build a flirtatious list, but we decided not to do it because the quorum can now be reached, unlike the past elections. Now everything is in the hands of the citizens ». Even if the candidate is only one, only by going to vote can he be elected. And on this De Pellegrin will focus the electoral campaign.

“I have been managing this land for ten years, first as mayor of Forno and then of Val di Zoldo,” he recalls. “I think the citizens know me by now. I will try to make them understand the importance of going to the polls, also explaining the things we have done in five years and why we have not been able to do others. I hope there is an assumption of responsibility on the part of the citizens: defeating the quorum is in the interest of the valley ».

The next five years will be crucial: “There are many changes taking place and it will be necessary to govern them,” continues De Pellegrin. “We will need a solid community to face the challenges that await us”. The main goal is to make Val di Zoldo a municipality where people want to live, and not just come on vacation. By creating a business, improving services, starting with traffic: “The Sp 251 must be made safe and is one of our priority objectives”, he continues. “We don’t want a highway that reaches Zoldo, but neither a road that risks closing due to landslides every week. And we must also build credible road alternatives, because our inhabited centers are all crossed by a busy road ».

A program built from a list created in continuity with that of 2016, but which has been renewed with the entry of three candidates: Jessica De Marco, expert in the social field; Manolo Rocca, ski instructor and also experienced in the management of public works; Fiorenza De Col, who will be invaluable for her financial expertise. A close team that now counts on the citizens to lead Val di Zoldo for the next five years.
