Volleyball Bundesliga: UVC Ried wants to surprise in the quarter-finals

Last weekend, coach Manuel Leitgeb’s team lost 3-0 in the home game against Aich/Dob. The people of Innviertel kept up well against the favorites from Carinthia for a long time. The first two rounds went to Aich/Dob with 26:24 and 28:26. The third set was a little clearer, with the guests winning 25:20 in front of around 700 fans in the Volleydome.

“The guests were a little more determined. We now want to win in Amstetten so that we can go into the play-offs with a positive feeling,” says middle blocker Felix Breit.

Next Saturday, February 10th, the Rieders will play the last game in the regular season in Amstetten. With a win, Ried would go into the quarterfinals in sixth place and face either Waldviertel or Aich/Dob. If the seventh place, Sokol Vienna, wins the last game in the regular season and Ried loses, Hartberg, second in the table, would be the opponent in the quarter-finals. Whatever: The Innviertlers go into the quarter-final series as outsiders. The team that can win two games first will advance to the semi-finals.

UVC Ried’s quarterfinal home game will take place on either February 17th or 18th.
